Job Description

Ensure sound process safety management programme for site in coordination with different
departments for existing and new products, during modification, and installation of new equipment &
facility in line with group HSE guidelines and ESMS manual.
 Advising, updating and guiding the Pharmaceutical functions on Group HSE guidelines and statutory
regulatory requirements.
 Ensuring that necessary consents / licenses / permissions pertaining to HSE related legislations from
regulatory authorities are managed effectively
 Ensure that on site and off site emergency plans are in place & updated regularly and guiding the
concerned functions in implementing the same.
 Advising and assisting Site management for accident / incident prevention.
 Ensure adequate documentation pertaining to HSE is in place.
 Supporting cross functional teams in preparation of related SOPs with respect to HSE requirements.
 Supporting purchasing function for appropriate quality of personal protective equipment and advising
for compliance to HSE systems by vendor / contractors.
 Plan & ensure internal HSE inspection / audit are conducted on regular basis & compliance is
effectively monitored.
 Ensure Investigation & corrective action of accident / incident
 Ensure effective management of Environment Management Cell and HSE committee activities.
 Ensure & support for effective industrial hygiene monitoring programme.
 Ensure effective waste management programme and control of the same.
 Ensure compliance to all applicable regulation & Liaison with authorities i.e. Pollution Control Board,
MoEF, Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health (DISH) etc.
 Promoting and maintaining ISO and GMP certification and standards w.r.t Environment Management
System (EMS)
 Ensure effective reporting of required data on HSE to investors and other stakeholders on periodic
basis.
 Ensuring compliance of emission of air, treatment of effluent and disposal of hazardous wastes as per
regulatory requirements.
 Coordinating international audit/ inspection and follow up on compliance of the recommendations.
 Carry out appropriate risk assessment studies (HAZOP/HIRA/QRA/JSA) as required at GPPL and
GIPL site.
 Organizing HSE related training programs & ensures its effectiveness.
 To lead, support, motivate & develop skills and resources available in HSE department to effectively
manage the HSE activities for the site.
 Ensuring & promote awareness amongst employee to prevent unsafe conditions or behaviours and
promptly reporting other potentially hazardous situations.
 Ensure effective implementation of ESMS module and fulfil investor requirements.
Requirements:
 Degree in Engineering or equivalent with 12+ years' experience in an EHS role.
 Candidate should have experience of working in Chemical industry/ API industry.
